About the oil blends:
Nestled on the hills of Bologna, the idyllic Palazzo di Varignana boasts a grove of almost 500 acres of olive trees. The ancient origins of olive oil cultivation are combined with modern espalier training and high-tech harvesting, making the olive oil production extremely efficient and sustainable. Each year the Bolognese estate produces an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality, with intense taste sensations and great aromatic complexity.
The flavors of lemon, thyme, basil, chili pepper, and truffle are obtained by infusing natural ingredients grown in the fragrant gardens of Palazzo di Varignana into their extra virgin olive oil.
Cold pressing and centrifuging the fresh fruits preserves all its outstanding nutritional value and health benefits, including high concentrations of oleic acid and antioxidants.
Olive oil is by far the most important ingredient of the Mediterranean diet!
The flavored oils are very balanced and versatile. Rich in heart-healthy fats and vitamins E and K, the oils are best if eaten raw. They pair excellently with a bruschetta, salads, fresh or grilled vegetables, vegetable soups, and grilled meats.
About the apron:
The rustic Italian apron is handmade with traditional block printing at “Antica Stamperia Carpegna”, a historic workshop tucked away in a small Marche region village. The workshop is run by the young artist Emanuele Francioni - 6th generation of his family to carry on the centuries old block printing unique to this region of Italy.
The traditional design of this apron is Spighe e Uva (wheat and grapes), symbols of abundance and good luck.
A portion of all proceeds will go to help the "Abbraccia un Bambino" (Hug a Child), a project of the non-profit Caritas organization to sustain children affected by poverty in the town of Pesaro, in Marche region of Italy.
